Health & accuracy notice
Version 2026-11-02.1 · Updated 2 November 2026
What ScanSync does
ScanSync helps you organise information from an uploaded sensitivity report and compare it with ingredient text. It provides information for reference, not medical advice, diagnosis or a food safety assessment. It does not diagnose, treat, prevent or cure allergies, intolerances or other medical conditions.
The report has its own limitations
A complete import does not establish that a report is medically valid. ScanSync does not independently verify or endorse the testing method or its findings. Sensitivity reports, including reports from hair-based bioresonance testing, must not be used to diagnose or rule out food allergies.
The NHS advises that some commercial home intolerance tests have limited evidence of accuracy and may lead to harmful dietary restrictions. Read the NHS guidance on food intolerance.
Reading and matching can miss things
PDF extraction, photo reading, barcode recognition and ingredient matching can make mistakes. Product databases may be incomplete, incorrect or out of date. Review imported classifications and compare the complete ingredient and allergen information with the current packaging, including “may contain” statements.
ScanSync cannot guarantee detection of every ingredient, synonym, derivative, allergen or cross-contact risk. It compares recognised text; it cannot inspect how food was made or handled.
How to read results
- High or moderate reactivity recorded: a matching entry has that classification in your report. This is not a diagnosis or a measure of allergy severity.
- No reactivity recorded: a matching tested entry has that classification in your report. It does not mean a food is safe or allergen-free.
- Not covered: the ingredient or phrase has no supported match in this report.
- Result unavailable or review required: ScanSync cannot provide a dependable report comparison for that text or profile.
No identified high or moderate matches does not establish food safety, particularly when text is missing, ambiguous or not covered.
Allergies and dietary decisions
Do not use ScanSync to decide whether food is safe for someone with a known or suspected allergy. Follow your healthcare professional’s advice and the manufacturer’s current ingredient and allergen information.
Do not stop prescribed treatment or make significant dietary restrictions solely because of this app or a sensitivity report. Speak to a GP or registered dietitian before removing foods from your or your child’s diet.
Supported reports
The current importer supports the verified report layout containing 1,703 listed entries mapped to 1,702 distinct catalogue elements. A reported summary total of 1,750 has a recorded 47-entry discrepancy. These extra entries have not been identified; they are not treated as tested or cleared. Other packages or layouts are not automatically supported.
Your acknowledgement
Before the first import for this notice version, ScanSync asks you to acknowledge these limitations. The notice version and time are saved in this browser. This is not a verified identity record, medical consent or a waiver of your legal rights. Clearing browser storage removes the record, and other devices have separate records.
